Author & Illustrator Guidelines

At Serving Books, we believe that stories and art have the power to change lives. We invite authors and illustrators to join our growing community of talented creators who share a passion for reaching children and families everywhere—especially those who need books the most.

When you work with us, your creativity helps put culturally rich, inclusive, and affordable books into the hands of children across the country. Our mission is to create stories that reflect the diverse communities we serve, ensuring every child feels seen, valued, and inspired.

How to Submit Your Work

We’d love to learn more about you and your creative vision. To be considered for future opportunities:

  • Email Connect@servingbooks.com with samples of your work or a link to your portfolio.

  • Please include a short introduction about yourself and the kinds of projects you love most.

  • Once your material is sent in you will get an auto reply that it was received.

    Your materials will be kept safely on file, and we’ll notify you when opportunities arise that fit your style and interests. Please sign up to get on our mailing list so that you will be notified of new projects as they arise. We look forward to working with you.
